As of this month, we have joined forces with WRAP, one of the world’s leading sustainability charities, to fight the climate emergency.
We’ve long talked about the role behaviour change has to play in mitigating climate change — with more than 60% of emissions reductions needed to achieve net zero requiring a change in behaviour, and 45% of our emissions coming from the products we use and how we use them. We’re looking forward to working more closely with WRAP to scale up interventions that will change the UK’s consumption behaviour.
Our partnership brings together two distinct areas of expertise: WRAP’s wide-reaching technical know-how and household name campaigns, and our years of experience in behavioural strategies, testing and scaling. Working together, we have ambitious plans to extend our impact on some of the most pressing environmental issues.
We believe that we can do more to empower the public to be part of the urgent action we know is sorely needed — engaging through on the ground interventions and existing citizen-facing brands including Love Food Hate Waste and Recycle Now. And we will now be able to support a range of environmental commitments made by organisations and governments, including those under Courtauld 2030, the UK Plastics Pact and Textiles 2030, as well as the wider push to net zero.
In practical terms: David and Rob will remain at the helm of Behaviour Change, working closely with Catherine David, WRAP’s Director of Collaboration & Change. As befits our new grown-up status, we’ve also established a governing board which will include Directors and Trustees from WRAP; while David joins WRAP’s Senior Leadership Team.
We want to say thanks for your support so far. Please get in touch if you think there’s a part you can play in this exciting new chapter in the Behaviour Change story — we’d love to hear from you.
